4 February 2025

BONNIE RAITT CONTINUES HER HEADLINING TOUR JOINED BY SPECIAL GUEST JIMMIE VAUGHAN & THE TILT-A-WHIRL BAND IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER 2025!

Bonnie Raitt is heading back out for her fourth year on tour just months after being recognized for her lifetime of artistic achievements as part of the Kennedy Center’s 47th Class of Honorees in Washington, DC last December. Raitt and her world-class band will headline theaters and amphitheaters around the country performing songs from her enduring catalog.

Raitt said, “I’m looking forward to having my longtime pal and one of my favorite artists, blues legend Jimmie Vaughan & The Tilt-A-Whirl Band be our special guests for the late Summer tour. We’ve shared many gigs and duets over the years but never as a ‘double trouble’ co-bill.  Bound to be some good blues rockin’ going on – can’t wait to hit the road together!” Vaughan agrees, “Thrilled to play some shows with my talented friend Bonnie Raitt and her band!  It’s been a long time coming!  Myself and The Tilt-A-Whirl Band are excited to be part of this great tour.”

The Bonnie Raitt Fan Community Presale and Special Benefit Seat sales for the following shows will begin, Wednesday, February 5th at 10am local time and will go on sale to the general public this Friday, February 7th at 10am local time.

About Jon Cleary
Jon Cleary’s love and affinity for New Orleans music goes back to the rural British village of Cranbrook, Kent, where he was raised in a musical family.  Cleary’s maternal grandparents performed in London in the 1940s, under the respective stage names Sweet Dolly Daydream and Frank Neville, The Little Fellow With The Educated Feet  – she as a singer, and he as a crooner and tap dancer.

As a teen Cleary grew increasingly interested in funk-infused music and discovered that three such songs that he particularly admired – LaBelle’s “Lady Marmalade,” Robert Palmer’s version of “Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley,” and Frankie Miller’s rendition of “Brickyard Blues”  – were attributed to Allen Toussaint as either the songwriter, the producer, or both. Cleary’s knowledge of Toussaint’s work expanded significantly when his uncle returned home to the U.K., after a two-year sojourn in New Orleans, with a copy of a Toussaint LP and two suitcases full of New Orleans R&B 45s. About Johnny Nicholas
Johnny Nicholas has spent a lifetime soaking up the flavor of such vibrant music scenes as Chicago, Southwest Louisiana, and Texas (which he’s called home now for 45 years). While he is primarily thought of as a blues legend and gifted storyteller, his music is full-spectrum Americana — a rich gumbo of blues, Southwest Louisiana soul and Texas swing and honky tonk. His 2018 release “Too Many Bad Habits” reissue project and double vinyl package received a 2019 Grammy Nomination. READ MORE

LA Fires and how to help

14 January 2025

I’m so heartbroken for the many thousands of people in Los Angeles who have suffered the loss of their homes, schools, businesses and entire communities. I was raised in LA, spent 2 decades of my adult life there and our family spent most of our family reunions and holidays visiting my Dad, where he lived in the Palisades the last 30 years of his life. It is truly unimaginable what people are going through and the amount of massive help and nearly “Marshall Plan” level of assistance they are going to need for decades. My heart and prayers and support go out to all those impacted and my deepest gratitude and support for all the firefighters, relief and care workers as well as kind and generous Angelenos who have so valiantly stepped in to help.
If you can and would like to join me, here are several wonderful organizations I’m making some initial donations to. Thank you and please keep your prayers and support coming in, however you are able.

On the passing of Sam Moore…

14 January 2025

So sad to hear of the passing of one of the greatest soul singers of all time, Sam Moore. He was a friend and one of the kindest, most lit up personalities on and off stage we will ever get to see. So honored to get to sing with him and I offer my sincere condolences to his wife and biggest supporter, Joyce, and all their family. He will be missed, celebrated and remembered always.  — Bonnie
